Summary

The nation’s #1 real estate broker and star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York shares his secrets for superstar success and getting what you want out of life—no matter who you are or what you do。

Ten years ago, Fredrik Eklund moved to New York City from his native Sweden with nothing but a pair of worn-out sneakers and a dream: to make it big in the city that never sleeps。 Since then, he’s become the top seller in the most competitive real estate market on the planet, brokering multimillion-dollar deals for celebrities, selling out properties all over the city, and charming audiences around the world as one of the stars of the hit Bravo series Million Dollar Listing New York。
Now, for the first time, Fredrik shares his secrets so that anyone can find success doing what they love。 According to Fredrik, even if you don’t consider yourself a salesperson, you’ve been in sales your whole life because every day you are selling your most important asset: yourself。 Whenever you influence, persuade or convince someone to give you something in exchange for what you’ve got—whether it’s a luxury home, a great idea at work, or your profile on Match。com—you are selling。 And if you know how to sell the right way, you can live your dream。 That is what The Sell is all about。

Blending personal stories, hilarious anecdotes, and the expertise he’s gained from his meteoric rise, Fredrik has written the modern guide on becoming successful, a book that tells you how to recognize and cultivate your true talents and make the ultimate sell。 From the importance of being your most authentic self to looking like a million bucks even if you don’t have a million bucks (yet!), he shows how intangible factors like personality and charm can get you noticed and make you shine。 He also shares his tips and tricks for preparing, persuading, and negotiating so that in any of life’s dealings, you’ll come out a winner。 Whether you work on Wall Street or at Wal-Mart, aim to become the top seller at your company or want to impress a first date, The Sell will help you have more personal and professional success, lead a rich and fulfilling life, and have fun along the way。

Started off with, “Oh, I don’t like this guy。 What a douchebag。” to “You can’t help but to love this guy’s energy!”。 Sure most things in this book are known methods, but Fredrik played the role of bestie and did an NK packaging around it which is what The Sell is all about。 Don’t expect anything groundbreaking but it makes for a decent, light read when you need a cheerleader to spur you on。 You wouldn’t come off much wiser, but you would definitely walk away feeling better。 I think a page we cou Started off with, “Oh, I don’t like this guy。 What a douchebag。” to “You can’t help but to love this guy’s energy!”。 Sure most things in this book are known methods, but Fredrik played the role of bestie and did an NK packaging around it which is what The Sell is all about。 Don’t expect anything groundbreaking but it makes for a decent, light read when you need a cheerleader to spur you on。 You wouldn’t come off much wiser, but you would definitely walk away feeling better。 I think a page we could all take out of Fredrik’s book (no pun intended) is to ooze so much enthusiasm that it rubs off on everyone! GREAT BOOK FOR REALTORS WHO TREAT THEIR CAREER LIKE A SPORT。 My favorite part about this book is how detailed he gets on his day to day schedule。 As a realtor, this book made me level up my game and has helped me provide better service to clients。 I liked this book so much that read it, then bought it on audio to hear it。 He’s very opinionated so don’t forget that, this book is filled with some facts and a lot of his opinions。 I could have done without the social media chapter (and maybe you can GREAT BOOK FOR REALTORS WHO TREAT THEIR CAREER LIKE A SPORT。 My favorite part about this book is how detailed he gets on his day to day schedule。 As a realtor, this book made me level up my game and has helped me provide better service to clients。 I liked this book so much that read it, then bought it on audio to hear it。 He’s very opinionated so don’t forget that, this book is filled with some facts and a lot of his opinions。 I could have done without the social media chapter (and maybe you can skip that chapter) but everything else is great。 I read it once and listened to it 2 times。 。。。more

This is one of those books I really looked forward to read and was not disappointed。The name of the book says it all。Even though the name might suggest it preaches some delling techniquest, it does not。 It does much more important job。 But that’s for you to find out

This book was actually better than anticipated。I do not know which book that recommended this book, but it was something about Fredrik Eklunds rationale for having a driver in new york instead of paying for taxis or driving himself。。 He only mentions it briefly himself in this book。Summary of my own takeaways: 5 rules to sell anything 1。 People want to do business with people they like, make people like you (business is about people2。 Business is all about playing out the good and playing down t This book was actually better than anticipated。I do not know which book that recommended this book, but it was something about Fredrik Eklunds rationale for having a driver in new york instead of paying for taxis or driving himself。。 He only mentions it briefly himself in this book。Summary of my own takeaways: 5 rules to sell anything 1。 People want to do business with people they like, make people like you (business is about people2。 Business is all about playing out the good and playing down the bad3。 Every successful person knows how to fail well4。 Everyone wants what everyone wants 5。 The most successful believes that their success is only temporary These rules is actually the biggest takeaway for me。 But there are small tidbits here and there that is "common sense" (at least for me) but nice reminders。。 Like for instance importance of being yourself (especially if you know you are difference), is a nice reminder to not hide it。 Dont try to fit in。。We are all a combination of success and failure。 Like joy and pain。 Dont get caught up in always trying to be successful。 Everyone wants to know what you can do for them。 Make other people feel better when they meet you。 Never worse。。Pro-Noia was a nice phrase I liked -- > Opposite as paranoiaeverything works in your favor。。Solid read - dont expect to much - but expect Fredrik。 。。。more

I do like the attitude, and the advice of this book。 Be genuine。 Be confident to be yourself。 Make an impression。 Be kind。 Make the world better。 Enjoy life。 Laugh。 Focus。 Work hard。 Fail, and learn from it。 I don't want to be told so many times how successful he is。 I'm not slow in understanding。And advice such as "Get up early!", after saying "know yourself"。 No。Or "protein shakes!", after saying "eat non-processed food"。 No。Never worry about money。。。it's easy to say。 Though I agree that worry I do like the attitude, and the advice of this book。 Be genuine。 Be confident to be yourself。 Make an impression。 Be kind。 Make the world better。 Enjoy life。 Laugh。 Focus。 Work hard。 Fail, and learn from it。 I don't want to be told so many times how successful he is。 I'm not slow in understanding。And advice such as "Get up early!", after saying "know yourself"。 No。Or "protein shakes!", after saying "eat non-processed food"。 No。Never worry about money。。。it's easy to say。 Though I agree that worrying doesn't help。In total, I like the book。 I am no good at selling, and maybe I can learn something, to use in life。 Selling is not only a job。 。。。more

WOW! I enjoyed so much reading this book! Fredrick manage and part of the most successful real estate team in the world。 Fredrick inspired me so much and I learned from him so much about sales, life and business。 It is definitely a recommended book for everyone who is interesting in sales and success。

I few interesting insights in this one, but on a whole I found it a little repetitive, and thought a lot of the fundamentals were quite basic, and some perhaps out of reach of the everyday person。 A character none the less though!

Fredrik Eklund is really larger than life and inside this book, it makes you feel like you too can reach your highest potential。 One thing that really stood out to me was the fact that if you like something, no matter how taboo or self-conscious you are about it, if it is really deep down who you are, accept it and be proud of it。 I'm not fully vocal about my something, but everything I think about suppressing it I think of his thoughts on the topic。 Fredrik Eklund is really larger than life and inside this book, it makes you feel like you too can reach your highest potential。 One thing that really stood out to me was the fact that if you like something, no matter how taboo or self-conscious you are about it, if it is really deep down who you are, accept it and be proud of it。 I'm not fully vocal about my something, but everything I think about suppressing it I think of his thoughts on the topic。 。。。more

At first I thought he came off like an arrogant jerk。 I listened to an audio version of the book that he read。 To some extent, considering what he has accomplished, he is entitled。 But then, you realize it is partly his accent and his being from Sweden originally。 Also, as the book goes along, he has some good advice on a variety of topics related to business success。

Tara-Louise Huddless

This is the third time I have read this bible of modern successful life。 Constantly surprised by Fredrik’s kindness and humility。 Every time I read this is strengthens my resolve to give back, live well and do better。

Picked up this book because I am terrified of sales and want to improve that。 Fred has interesting ideas about how we sell things (even ourselves) every day, whether we realize it or not。 Good strategies here。

Well written, good reminders for those in sales!

This book really helped me feel more comfortable with what I want and what I need to do in order to get there。 How to be me and not care what others think。 When I'm not being myself I'm not going to be authentic and that jeopardizes business。 This book really helped me feel more comfortable with what I want and what I need to do in order to get there。 How to be me and not care what others think。 When I'm not being myself I'm not going to be authentic and that jeopardizes business。 。。。more

Fun stories and tips from Fredrick Eklund who stars in a reality tv show about real estate。

Interesting book about the world of luxury real estate and the personal experience of a sector leader。 A few of the tips like the instagram one are a bit basic - more like tactical。 Nevertheless, a good enjoyable read。

This is my second time reading this book and it was even better。 It’s sales, startup and life advice all wrapped up with Fredrik’s personal touch。 As a fellow Swede it’s even more inspiring。

I love Fredrik so so much and he's such a genuine guy。 The book was an interesting read and had some good points as well as it gave some good pointers。 That being said I felt like the book could have been a bit more compressed so that it wouldn't "drag on"。 Overall not a bad read at all and it shows you that the key to success is to be yourself I love Fredrik so so much and he's such a genuine guy。 The book was an interesting read and had some good points as well as it gave some good pointers。 That being said I felt like the book could have been a bit more compressed so that it wouldn't "drag on"。 Overall not a bad read at all and it shows you that the key to success is to be yourself 。。。more
